Music Composition

Music Learning occurs when students develop their own compositions.  In Primary Schools, this can occur through a number of avenues as shown below.​
 Using Pictures as Compositional Tools. 
In the video, there are four pictures, a storm, raindrops, wind and a blank picture.  Words were given to each picture.  Lang for the storm, didi for the raindrops, hoo hoo for the wind, and nothing for the blank page (rest).  
The group speaks the words rhythmically in order.
The group changes the order of the pictures and a new composition is developed.  
They speak the words in order.
They play the rhythm of the words on different instruments.

Graphic Notation

In the video, participants are using a graphic score to interpret in both movement and sound.  They then make their own score to interpret using voice, instruments, or movement.
